Romantic Restaurants in Orange County
There is no shortage of places to eat in Orange County, California. Romance Overlooking the rocky slope of the Pacific Ocean is half the county, hills and valleys on the other half.
Starting with “inland” options:
Anaheim White House – Foundation in Anaheim. Northern Italian cuisine and French touches are combined in a real white house in a very elegant decor.
Orange Hill Restaurant is located in Orange. The restaurant hosts many weddings, anniversaries and suggestions. Kitchen in America. The restaurant and bar overlook a sweeping valley below. City lights in the incredible distance. Very high on romantic charts, so I suggested to my sister that this would be the perfect place for her wedding. The food is excellent, but the guests seem to wander to the windows to enjoy the view as much as the receptionist meets.
Golden Travel – Costa Mesa. While the restaurant has no views and is located on one of the main streets, what makes this restaurant special is the desire of the chef and his staff to prepare and present some of the most unusual cuisines in the province in an unusual way.
Cedar Creek Inn San Juan Capistrano. This restaurant is in the old town area, across the street from the mission. Again, you can not see any view but the lights of the courtyard and easy to take a stroll through the attractive city and the shop in antique shops worth the effort. The kitchen is California.
Five crowns – Corona del Mar. The main element of this very famous restaurant is that it is a replica of the oldest inn in England. The Lawry-owned restaurant serves American dishes, but waitstaff offers you a dress and English service. Obviously, if you choose here, eat steaks.
Ritz Restaurant and Newport Beach Park. Continental cuisine offered by a wonderful wait staff wants to make sure that everything you celebrate is special.
All remaining restaurants have sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean. Except Las Brisas, which serves Mexican cuisine, all American cuisine is served.
Las Brisas-Laguna Beach. Best bet, stick with seafood. This restaurant was a long time ago. While the food may not reach the same standards as the rest of the options listed, the supply and service usually are what keeps this place on the “romantic” map.
The Chart House-Dana Point. Many weddings and receptions were held here. He even wanted to add our daughters to the list. When we want a very romantic evening, this is where my husband and I go. The food is excellent, professional staff, and while you wait (and you will), you can enjoy a stroll in the Backyard or sit outside with a glass of wine.
Dana Point Defender. Lots of directions to raise your neck in the view here. I prefer lunch in the spring or summer on Sunday, but for long-time interviewees, they are sold at this hot spot for a special evening.
Salt Creek Inn-Laguna Niguel is a great base from which to explore this vibrant city. Different and selective. Service may be intermittent, but the smaller audience I spoke to seemed to enjoy eating here.
